JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Winthrop baseball (5-11) dropped the series finale at ETSU (9-4) Saturday afternoon, 10-5. While it was the most runs Winthrop scored in the series, the Eagles couldn't contain the Bucs' offense. The 14 hits recorded by ETSU tied a season-high for hits allowed by the Eagles.

The Eagles return to the friendly confines of Winthrop Ballpark Tuesday and Wednesday this week for two nonconference matchups. Winthrop hosts Furman Tues., Mar. 13 at 6 p.m. and a makeup game with UNC Greensboro on Weds., Mar. 14, also at 6 p.m. Winthrop will then open conference play with a three-game series against Presbyterian College, Mar. 16-18.
