EAGLES AT A GLANCE
Winthrop had a strong first-half showing against Presbyterian Tuesday night. The Eagles took a lead into halftime for the first time this season against a Division I opponent. In the second half Tuesday Winthrop couldn't quell the Blue Hose's three-point shooting as they hit eight in the final 20 minutes.
Prior to Tuesday's contest,
Anika Riley was named as the Big South Freshman of the Week for her performances against Longwood and Asheville the week prior where she averaged 11 points per game.
SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
Since defeating Winthrop on January 27, the Bulldogs have lost three straight with two of those losses coming by a combined three points. Gardner-Webb is 14-9 overall and 4-7 in the conference play.
Tierra Huntsman and Alexus Hill have led the Bulldogs offensively, each averaging more than 14 points per game. The pair is also the team's leaders in rebounding, pulling down 5.9 and 5.4 boards per game respectively.
ALL-TIME AGAINST GARDNER-WEBB
Saturday will mark the 25
th all-time meeting between the Eagles and Bulldogs. Gardner-Webb holds an overall 16-9 lead in the series. The Bulldogs have won the last four meetings over the Eagles including earlier this season at the Winthrop Coliseum. The last victory for the Eagles came December 5, 2015 at home.

Winthrop will remain on the road for its next contest as the Eagles head to High Point Tuesday evening for a 7 p.m. contest against the Panthers.
