Kem Nwabudu scored a team-high 16 points in Winthrop's setback at Georgia Southern Tuesday that snapped a three-game winning streak. Nwabudu leads the team with 8.7 points per game.
Anika Riley and
Courtney Hagaman have averaged 7.7 and 7.5 points respectively.
SCOUTING WESTERN CAROLINA
Western Carolina is 2-9 on the year and is coming off a 99-39 loss at Kentucky on Tuesday. The Catamounts have been led offensively by three players averaging better than eight points per game. Jewel Smalls leads the team with 8.7 points per game followed by Angel Allen and Tess Harris with 8.2 and 8.0 points respectively.
ALL-TIME AGAINST WESTERN CAROLINA
The Eagles and Catamounts have met 40 previous times on the hardwood with Western Carolina holding a 29-11 lead in the series. The two sides have not met since November of 2000 and the Eagles have not beaten the Catamounts since February of 1996.
WHAT'S UP NEXT
Winthrop will be off until after the new year as the Eagles open conference play. Winthrop will open with three straight home games starting January 5 against the Longwood Lancers.
