EAGLES AT A GLANCE
Winthrop enters the new year with a lot of new faces with seven newcomers including six freshmen.  Entering her second full year at the helm of the Eagles, Lynette Woodard, returns her top scorer from a year ago, Courtney Hagaman.  Hagaman averaged just shy of 10 points per game overall and averaged more than 12 points per game in conference play.

Anika Riley, an All-Freshman Team member from a year ago, returns for her sophomore campaign with the Eagles.  Riley averaged 7.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last season.  Miquela Santoro and Marissa Cantrell both missed significant time last season due to injuries but are expected to have an impact again this season.

SCOUTING WISCONSIN
The Badgers finished last season at 9-21 under second-year head coach Johnathan Tsipis.  Tsipis has a solid mix of youth and experience on his squad this season.  Senior Marsha Howard is the team's top returning scorer as she averaged 12.4 points per game last season and also led the team in rebounding with 6.9 boards per contest.

ALL-TIME AGAINST WISCONSIN
This will be the first all-time meeting between the Eagles and Badgers.

Winthrop will continue with a tough opening weekend as the Eagles head to Athens, GA to take on the Georgia Bulldogs Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Every Thursday at The Roasting Company throughout the basketball season will be the Winthrop Sports Show at ROCO hosted by the voices of the Winthrop Eagles Dave Friedman and Mike Pacheco. The two will sit down weekly with head coaches Pat Kelsey and Lynette Woodard as well as other selected guests throughout the season. The show is from 6-6:30 p.m. and airs live on 94.3 FM & 104.1 The Bridge.
