ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop Baseball team will play its last home game of the season against Charlotte on Tuesday beginning at 6 pm at The Winthrop Ballpark.
The Eagles enter the game 29-20 on the season and are coming off a weekend series win against Campbell. Charlotte is 28-22 on the season and took one of three against UTSA this past weekend.
Senior
Anthony Paulsen is entering the game with a 16 game-hitting streak and a 30 game-reached on base. He is batting .355 on the season with 65 hits, 25 RBI, and 13 doubles.
The 49ers T.J. Nichting leads the team in batting average with a .392, with 83 hits, 56 runs scored, 43 RBI, and 15 doubles.
Both teams met on April 4
th when Winthrop scored three runs in the top of the ninth to win 3-2. Paulsen went 4-for-5, and
Grant English went 3-for-4 with one run.
Zach Peek earned the win that improved him to 2-0 and
Dalton Whitaker got his fourth save on the season.
