Winthrop Baseball Travels To North Carolina A&T Tuesday; Hosts Wofford Wednesday

ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop Baseball team travels to North Carolina A&T on Tuesday beginning at 6 pm at War Memorial Stadium and hosts Wofford on Wednesday beginning at 6 pm at The Winthrop Ballpark.  

The Eagles are 20-16 and are coming off a weekend sweep of Liberty and are on a four-game winning streak. North Carolina A&T is 20-14 this season and entering the game with a four-game winning streak and swept North Carolina Central this past weekend. Wofford is 20-17 and took two of three against UNC Greensboro this past weekend.

Winthrop played Wofford earlier this season where it scored five runs in the ninth to go on and win 10-6. This will be the first game of two meetings for Winthrop against North Carolina A&T and The Eagles have not lost to the Aggies since May of 2014.  

Senior Anthony Paulsen is coming off a weekend where he went 5-for-6 in the game Friday with a three-run home run, three RBI, and four runs scored. He is batting .463 with 19 hits, nine runs scored, three home runs, two doubles, and nine RBI in the month of April.

For the Aggies Myles Sowell is leading the team in batting average with .402, has 47 hits, four doubles, three triples, three home runs, 32 runs scored, and 21 RBI.

The Terriers Bradley McClain is batting .388 this season with seven doubles, four home runs, 33 hits, 25 runs scored, and 25 RBI.
