ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop women's basketball team has a busy weekend on tap as the Eagles will host Wofford Saturday at 2 p.m. before heading to Durham, NC to face the Duke Blue Devils Sunday at 2 p.m.

EAGLES AT A GLANCE
Winthrop is coming off a strong outing at home Sunday against the East Tennessee State Buccaneers. Despite falling to the Bucs, the Eagles had a strong shooting afternoon, connecting on 41.5 percent of their shots from the floor. Winthrop also had four players finish in double-figure scoring.
Despite the uptick in shooting, Winthrop is still working to solidify its ball-handling as turnovers continue to cause them some trouble. Over the last three contests, the Eagles have committed an average of 25 turnovers per game which has led to more than 31 points per game for the opponents.
SCOUTING WOFFORD
Wofford enters Saturday's contest with a 4-4 overall record on the season and are 0-2 on the road this year. The Terriers are coming off a 73-55 loss at Gardner-Webb Tuesday night after having won their previous two games including a 70-68 triumph over UNC Asheville.
The Terriers are led by a trio of players who are averaging double-digit points. Junior Chloe Wanink leads the team with 22.1 points per game. Sophomore Cairo Booker is second on the team in points with 12.8 per game and leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 5.3 boards per contest. Freshman Da'Ja Green is third on the team with 10.8 points per game.
ALL-TIME AGAINST WOFFORD
This will be the 16
th all-time meeting between the Eagles and Terriers. Winthrop leads the series 11-4. The two sides haven't met since December of 2006 when the Eagles fell at Wofford 77-51. The last Winthrop victory over Wofford came at home on January 4, 2006 as the Eagles downed the Terriers 56-44.
SCOUTING DUKE
Duke is coming off an 85-54 victory over UNC Greensboro Thursday evening and currently sit at 7-2 on the season with a perfect 5-0 mark at home. The two losses for the Blue Devils have come on the road against fifth-ranked South Carolina and Villanova.
The Blue Devils have four players averaging double-figure scoring this season, led by Lexie Brown who has averaged 18.9 points per game. The other leading scorers include Rebecca Greenwell with 14.8 points per game and Leaonna Odom and Erin Mathias who have averaged 10.6 and 10.1 points per game respectively. Odom also leads the team in rebounding with 7.7 boards per game followed closely by Rebecca Greenwell with 6.1 rebounds per contest.
As a team, the Blue Devils are averaging 71.9 points per game while allowing only 58. Duke has dominated opponents on the boards, outrebounding opponents by more than nine rebounds per game.
ALL-TIME AGAINST DUKE
The Eagles and Blue Devils have met twice previously and Duke has won both meetings. The two sides last met on November 15, 2015 with Duke winning 78-50. The Eagles also traveled to Durham for the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2014.

Winthrop will have a week off before returning to the court for its next contest on Sunday, December 17. The Eagles will head to Cookeville, TN to take on Tennessee Tech.
