ROCK HILL, SC – Coming off its first victory of the season, the Winthrop women's basketball team returns to the court Saturday at 1 p.m. to host the South Carolina State Bulldogs.
Saturday is Homecoming at Winthrop and the game will be played as a doubleheader with the men's team who host Central Penn at 4 p.m.

EAGLES AT A GLANCE
Winthrop put up 94 points against NC Wesleyan Wednesday night, the first time the program has eclipsed the 90-point mark since February of 2015.
Graduate student Ronata Rogers earned her first career double-double Wednesday, scoring 14 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Marissa Cantrell led the team with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting while Kayla Atkins grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
Winthrop continues to get strong production out of its freshman unit as the Eagles are getting more than 50 percent of their scoring from the first-year players. Kayla Brown continues to lead the team, averaging 13.3 points per game.
SCOUTING SC STATE
The Bulldogs enter Saturday's contest with a 0-2 mark on the season. SC State is coming off a 56-48 setback to ACC opponent Clemson Monday evening.
Bryeasha Blair and Kyesha Lewis have led the Bulldogs in scoring so far this season, averaging 11.5 and 10.5 points per game respectively. Jasmine Williams and Jaquanna Murray have led the team on the boards, each pulling down 7.5 rebounds per game.
The Bulldogs have averaged 44 points per game so far this season while allowing 71. SC State has connected on 30 percent of its shots from the floor including 22 percent from beyond the three-point arc.
ALL-TIME AGAINST SC STATE
The Eagles and Bulldogs have met 20 previous times with SC State holding a 14-6 series lead. Last season the Bulldogs won 63-55 at the Winthrop Coliseum. The last Eagle victory came in 2011.
WHAT'S UP NEXT
Winthrop will have a long game break before hitting the court again on November 28. The Eagles will head to Akron for a 10:30 a.m. contest against the Zips before traveling to Marshall for a Nov. 30 contest against the Thundering Herd.
WINTHROP SPORTS SHOW AT ROCO
Every Thursday at The Roasting Company throughout the basketball season will be the Winthrop Sports Show at ROCO hosted by the voices of the Winthrop Eagles Dave Friedman and Mike Pacheco. The two will sit down weekly with head coaches Pat Kelsey and Lynette Woodard as well as other selected guests throughout the season. The show is from 6-6:30 p.m. and also airs on 94.3 FM & 104.1 The Bridge.
