SERIES HISTORY VERSUS HIGH POINT
Winthrop and High Point meet for the 27
th time as the Eagles look to improve on their all-time lead in the series, 15-8-3. The two teams have gone into double-overtime the past three meetings in the regular season and four straight meetings overall. High Point won two of them in double-overtime, both came in Rock Hill, including last season when High Point scored in the 104
th minute on a penalty kick to earn a 2-1 win. In the last five meetings the games have been decided by a goal with two of them being a tie (both ties in 2015).
A GLANCE AT WINTHROP
Winthrop is dropped a hard fought match last weekend against Campbell at home. The Eagles are 1-3-1 so far this season on the road. Winthrop is currently fourth in the league in scoring at 1.27 goals per game and sixth in goals against at 1.49.
Max Hasenstab broke a four-game scoring drought as he tied the game against Campbell with his seventh goal of the season and 41
st of his career. Hasenstab is 5
th in the league in scoring at 1.60 points per game and 5
th in goals per game (.70).
Kenneth Perkinson is first in the league in saves per game and fourth in save percentage. The last time Hasenstab faced High Point he scored the championship-clinching penalty in 2015. In four career games against the Panthers, he has one goal.
A GLANCE AT HIGH POINT
The Panthers are coming off a 1-0 non-conference loss at home to Loyola this past Wednesday. High Point earned a 2-1 win over Radford in its most recent league action. The Panthers scored two in the first half and held on for the one-goal win. Offensively they are 7
th in the league in scoring at 1.00 goals per game but second in goals against at 1.01. Justen Shear leads the team in scoring with six points followed by Bana Ganidekam with five points. Keegan Meyer has started all 11 games he's appeared and is 4-5-1 with a 1.10 goals against average and three shutouts. The Panthers have only allowed multiple goals in two games this season.

Max Hasenstab has had a decorated career and enters the 2017 season among some of the NCAA Division I active scoring leaders. Hasenstab entered the season third among active players with 1.67 points per game and currently sits in 2
nd at 1.65 per game. He is tied with UNLV's Danny Musovski at 41 each. He began the year 3rd in goals per game at .71 and currently sits 3
rd at .71 goals per game. Through 10 games played he's 20
th nationally in goals per game and 26
th in points per game. He is a three-time All-Big South selection and the 2015 Big South Conference Tournament MVP. He has 96 career points, which ranks 2
nd among active players and is 7
th all-time in Winthrop history.
HASENSTAB TABBED BIG SOUTH ATTACKING PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR A SECOND TIME
Max Hasenstab was named the Big South Attacking Player of the Week for a second time this season (Sept. 18) after he helped the team to a 1-1 record the week before with two goals and two assists. He earned his first one of the season with his hat trick in the win over Wofford. It was his third career hat trick and the third time in his career to capture the honor.

Winthrop returns to Eagle Field for the first of three straight home games when it faces College of Charleston on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
BIG SOUTH PRESEASON POLL
Winthrop was picked fifth in the Big South Preseason Poll as it was tied with Campbell with 45 votes. The Eagles captured their final two league games of 2016, but did not advance to the conference tournament. Winthrop and Campbell were just seven votes behind Longwood in 4
th. The Highlanders received 7-of-9 first-place votes while High Point was picked second and Liberty third.
