ROCK HILL, SC—Winthrop goes for a fourth consecutive win as it hits the road for a game at St. Louis, Thursday evening at 8 p.m.

Winthrop is riding a season-best three-game win streak as it enters the contest with a 7-3 record. The game will air on Fox Sports Midwest or fans can tune into 104.1 The Bridge with Dave Friedman providing the play-by-play.

Tuesday afternoon the Eagles rallied from a 14-point deficit to capture an 86-84 win over Georgia Southern for a third straight win. It tied the largest deficit the Eagles have rallied to win the game under head coach Pat Kelsey. Winthrop is 7-3 for the second straight season, second time under Kelsey and the fourth time in program history.

The Eagles will take on the Billikens for the first time in program history and will play in the state of Missouri for just the third time. The previous two trips to Missouri saw the Eagles pull off a 51-46 win at Missouri on Jan. 4, 2000 and capture a 77-66 win at Missouri State in an ESPN Bracketbuster matchup on Feb. 16, 2007.

For the first time this season, Keon Johnson and Xavier Cooks each hit the 20-point mark in the same game. Cooks led the team with 27 points while Johnson scored 22, which was his fourth straight game with 20 or more points. Cooks improved his scoring average to 16.8 ppg as he's shooting 50 percent from the floor and 38 percent from three. Cooks also leads the team in rebounding at 6.2 per game and is tied for the team lead with 13 blocks.

Johnson has played in four of the team's five games and has scored at least 22 points in all four of them as he's averaging 27 ppg while shooting 50 percent from the floor on the road. He's also averaging 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

In 1985-86 the Eagles participated in their first season at the NCAA Division I level. On Thursday, the Eagles will have an opportunity to win the program's 500th game as a D1 member (499-431).

This will be the first meeting between Winthrop and St. Louis as the Eagles are 0-10 all-time against Atlantic 10 opponents. St. Louis enters the contest with a 4-7 mark and are coming off a 72-58 home win over Southern Illinois-Evansville. All four of the Billikens wins on the season have come at home as they hold a 4-3 mark in Chaifetz Arena.

Jermaine Bishop leads a St. Louis offense averaging 61.7 ppg with 11.6 per game as he's shooting 36 percent from the field and 81 percent at the line.
