Men's Soccer Team Helps with Toys for Happiness Project

Among the men's Soccer Players (from L-R) who helped move toys were Leif Estevez Fernandez, Joey Soeder, Kenneth Perkinson
ROCK HILL, SC--A group of Winthrop men's soccer players volunteered their time on Friday to help with the annual Toys for Happiness program that distributes toys to children in need around the York County area.

The soccer players helped load a truck at the one of the toy collection centers located at WRHI and then unload the truck at the distribution center.  Nearly 1,600 kids from almost 700 families are expected to be served this year by the Toys for Happiness program.  Other Winthrop athletic teams will be spending volunteer hours over the next two weeks helping to sort the toys by age and gender groups.

This marks the third year that Winthrop Athletics has volunteered with this worthy Christmas project.
