ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop baseball looks to finish off the season on a winning note and battle for its final conference ranking with a three-game series against Longwood. Games are scheduled for Thursday at 6:00 p.m., Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The two teams have only met four times with the Eagles leading the series 3-1.
Winthrop (35-17, 13-8 Big South) is currently on a 10-game conference winning streak, sweeping its last three series. It is fourth in the overall ranks, one game ahead of High Point and two games behind Liberty. The Eagles have secured a place in the conference tournament next week, but need all three wins to secure the fourth place spot. Senior
Brad Kaczka continues to lead the Eagles' offense with a .356 batting average while sophomore and Big South Player of the Week
Babe Thomas is on a team high six game hitting streak, including two home runs last week.

Josh Strong have established themselves in the weekend rotation this season with the three pitchers combining for a 3.20.
The Lancers (21-29, 9-12) have also locked up a place in the conference tournament this week but are also fighting for their final position. They are currently tied for seventh with Charleston Southern and are one game behind sixth place Campbell. Longwood has won just two out of its last eight games, with the two wins coming against Gardner-Webb this weekend. Connar Bastaich leads the team in batting average (.332) while Kyri Washington has driven home a team high 45 runs.
