Box Score www.winthropphotos.comBox ScoreROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop baseball team completed a sweep of Presbyterian and extended its conference winning streak to ten games, the longest since 2007, with a 7-2 victory on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles are now 35-16 overall and 13-8 in the Big South while the Blue Hose fall to 24-27 and 4-17 in conference action.

Tom Riginos was extremely happy with the way his team played this weekend, especially for his seniors. "It's always good when you can have a winning weekend for "Senior Day,"" says Riginos. "We played very well in all three phases of the game and we are putting ourselves in a good position for the post season."
Babe Thomas got three hits in four at bats, with two RBIs and one run.
Josh Strong earned his seventh win of the year, allowing two runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings.
Joey Strain closed out the final 2 2/3 innings and held the Blue Host to just one hit. Tanner Chock took the loss, surrendering five runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Tyler Weyenberg put the Blue Hose on top in the third inning, scoring from second on a single by Jay Lizanich.
Anthony Paulsen tied it up in the bottom of the third, coming home on a single to right center field by
Mark Lowrie after singling through the right side and stealing second.
Presbyterian took back the lead in the top of the fourth when Jacob Midkiff crossed the plate as Brandon Martin reached on fielder's choice that threw Rob Koski out at second.
The Eagles answered right back with a run of their own in the bottom half of the fifth. With two outs,
Kyle Edwards doubled to right center field and came home on a single by
Tyler Asbill.
Winthrop then jumped out to a three-run lead in the fifth inning.
Brad Kaczka led off with a single and advanced to second as Paulsen grounded out. Kaczka scored on a single by
Mark Lowrie before Menken walked. Lowrie crossed the plate on a single by
Jace Whitley that advanced Menken to second. Menken moved to third on a fielding error by the right fielder on the play before coming home on a single by Thomas.
Kyle Edwards made it 6-2 in the sixth inning, scoring on a single up the middle by Asbill after doubling to left center field.
Babe Thomas got his fifth home run of the season in the bottom of the seventh, slamming the ball over the left field fence to bring the score to 7-2.
The Eagles will play their final home game this season on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. against the 49ers of Charlotte.
