ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop baseball team looks to extend its home winning streak to four as it hosts the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in a three game weekend series. The games are scheduled for Friday at 4:00 p.m., Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
The two teams have met just twice, with the series tied at 1-1.
Winthrop (7-4) is 6-3 when playing at home, where they have been averaging 7.2 hits per game and have outscored its opponents 53-33. Junior
Mark Lowrie is currently on a six game hit streak and is leading the team in batting average (.381) with six RBIs.
Anthony Paulsen has been effective on offense for the Eagles, getting seven RBIs on a team high 14 hits while crossing the plate 11 times this year.

Zach Sightler have established themselves in this season's weekend rotation with the two combining for almost 40 innings pitched already this year while averaging an ERA of 3.87.Â
The Hawks (2-7) halted a four game losing streak with an 8-3 victory over George Washington University over the weekend. UMES has yet to play a single game at home, and are averaging just 4.8 hits a game. Sophomore Justin Datillo has gone 8-27 at the plate with three doubles. Senior Greg Turlik has been relied on to score runs for the Hawks, registering four RBIs on the year including the team's lone home run.
John O'Neil is serving as the team's interim head coach after spending three years as an assistant coach.
