ROCK HILL, SC—Winthrop junior pitcher
Matt Crohan has received more national recognition as he has been ranked in the Perfect Game USA's top 150 college prospects for the 2016 MLB Draft which will be held next June.
Crohan, a left-hander from Jamesport, NY, is ranked 72
nd on the list and is the top-ranked player among Big South Conference baseball players. Crohan compiled a 7-4 record in 2015 with a 3.05 era over 76 innings pitched. He was also invited to the 2015 Team USA tryouts this past July.

Tom Riginos credits the team's success over the past two years for the accolades that are coming Crohan's way. "The team has worked extremely hard to put themselves and Matt in a position to be very successful this coming season," Riginos said. "It is a great honor that Perfect Game USA has recognized that Matt has the potential to be one of the best left-handed pitchers in the country this coming season."
Crohan and his Winthrop teammates will open the 2016 season on Feb. 19 at The Winthrop Ballpark when they host La Salle to begin a four-game series.
