ROCK HILL, SC—The Winthrop men's soccer team will open the 2015 NCAA College Cup on the road as it will face Elon on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.
The Eagles (11-6-2) earned their bid to the NCAA College Cup by capturing the Big South Conference Championship for the automatic bid. The top-seeded Eagles captured the title by beating High Point in penalties, 3-1. Elon is 13-5-1 on the year and received an at-large bid out of the Colonial Athletic Conference. The Phoenix reached the semifinals of the Colonial Championship but fell 5-4 in penalties to Delaware.
The game will be played at Rudd Field on the campus of Elon University.
