2025 HONORS
CHAMPIONSHIP ANNIVERSARY
The 2025 season marks the 10th anniversary of the 2015 Big South Conference Championship team. In the final year with Rich Posipanko as head coach, the Eagles overcame a 1-4 start to win 10 of its next 12 games on their way to a Big South title. After falling to USC Upstate 5-4, the Eagles bounced back to defeat Appalachian State 2-0 which was the start of a seven-game winning streak. Of the seven straight wins, four of those came in overtime and three of them in double-overtime. The Eagles clinched the Big South regular season title in the final game of the regular season, a 1-0 victory at Longwood. Eagles rolled through the first two rounds of the tournament with a 3-0 win over UNC Asheville and 4-0 win over Campbell. In the Big South title game, the match went to penalties with the Eagles outlasting High Point 3-1. That year Posipanko was voted the Big South Coach of the Year and the Eagles landed just three player on the all-conference teams (Jordi Lluch, Max Hasenstab and Magnus Thorsson). Hasenstab also earned Big South Tournament MVP honors.
