Baseball Heads to Greensboro to Take on North Carolina A&T

ROCK HILL, SC- After an eight day hiatus, the Winthrop baseball team heads to Greensboro to take on North Carolina A&T on Wednesday night. The game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium.  This will be the second time this season the Eagles have met the Aggies, beating them 8-2 at The Winthrop Ballpark back on March 18.

Winthrop (22-26) looks to extend its four game winning streak while keeping their conference tournament dreams alive. T.J. Olesczuk continues to lead the Eagles' offense, ranked fifth in the country in individual batting average (.417) and tied for first in the Big South conference in doubles (17). Winthrop's pitchers have been very effective so far this season, earning the second lowest ERA in the conference (3.27).

This will be the last regular season game for the Aggies (16-38) who have last eight out of the last nine games. Luke Tendler and Kelvin Freeman are both hitting above .300, .369 and .342 respectively, with Freeman hitting a team high 59 RBIs.

This is just the second season for head coach Joel Sanchez who has an overall record of 36-74.
