Rock Hill, SC – The Winthrop Eagles will host the Carolina Cup Thursday night as their last tune up before the Big South Conference Outdoor Championships next weekend.
 
This will be the Eagles final test, both from an athletic and organizational standpoint, before they host the Conference Championships from April 17 to the 19.
 
Coach Paxton explains the team's mindset going into the competition, "This is a great opportunity for everybody to compete and prove if they're ready to take on the Conference Championships. Now it's the time to step up and post strong performances against six other teams that are hungry to steal the show on our home track".
 
The Eagles will face Gardner Webb, USC Upstate, Appalachian State, College of Charleston, Citadel and Savannah State.
 
Senior recognition will take place at 4pm, with field events starting at 4:15 and running events at 5:30.
