Box Score ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop baseball team was held to just two hits as it fell to Radford 1-0 Sunday afternoon at The Winthrop Ballpark. The Eagles took the series 2-1 but fell to 16-18 on the season and 8-4 in conference action as the Highlanders went to 16-14 and 7-5 in the Big South.
Josh Strong started for the Eagles and pitched 8.1 innings, giving up just one run and six hits. Radford's Michael Boyle pitched a complete game and held the Eagles to just two hits.
Josh Reavis had the only run of the game in the fifth inning when he scored on an RBI single by Blake Sipe.
Winthrop's hits came in the second inning on a single by
Babe Thomas and a double from T.J. Olesczuk in the ninth inning.
The Eagles travel to Spartanburg to take on USC Upstate on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
