Baseball Drops Second Game of Weekend Series with Presbyterian 3-1

Box Score ROCK HILL, SC- Despite John Menken scoring the tying run in the sixth inning, the Winthrop baseball team fell to Presbyterian College 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. Winthrop drops to 17-21 and 8-6 in the conference as Presbyterian jumps to 12-22-1 and 5-9 in Big South action.

Zach Sightler took the loss for the Eagles, giving up three runs on five hits in seven innings while Presbyterian's Chandler Know held the Eagles to just one run and six hits.
Menken crossed the plate after hitting a double and being driven home on an RBI single by Babe Thomas.

Presbyterian took the lead after four scoreless innings, as Brandon Paul scored on a sacrifice fly by Jay Lazanich. Glen Casaceli scored the go ahead run that would be the game winner in the bottom of the sixth on a passed ball with Cam McRae scoring on a wild pitch in the seventh inning to make the final 3-1.

The Eagles play the final game of the weekend series in Clinton, SC Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
