Baseball Gets Blanked by Blue Hose 6-0

Box Score ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop baseball team was blanked by Presbyterian College 6-0 Friday afternoon in Clinton, SC. Winthrop drops to 17-20 and 11-7 in the conference, while the Blue Hose snap a 13- game losing streak and improve to 11-22-1 and 4-9 in the Big South.

Winthrop's Sam Kmiec pitched a complete game, giving up all six runs on nine hits while his counterpart Aaron Lesiak held the Eagles to just six hits in nine innings.

College Sports Madness Preseason Big South Second Team selection Cody Dolan made his first appearance this year after battling injury to get two of the Eagles' six hits.

Presbyterian took a 2-0 lead after the first inning, as Glen Casaceli and Billy Motroni both crossed the plate. Casaceli scored on a sacrifice fly by Jacob Midkiff while Motroni came home as Cam McRae fouled out to right field.

The Blue Hose added one more in both the fourth and fifth innings, and two in the eight to bring the final to 6-0.
