ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop women's soccer team returns home Saturday afternoon for its second conference game of the season against Longwood at 1:00 p.m. on Eagle Field.

Winthrop (5-1-1) looks to continue its undefeated record at home against a Longwood team that is coming off a 1-0 victory over Coastal Carolina. Both teams are 1-0 in Big South Conference play.

Winthrop is currently first in the conference in goals and shots, averaging 3.57 goals per game. The offense is led by junior Krystyna Freda who has nine goals and 48 shots so far this season. Sophomore Taylor Coleman is right behind Freda with four goals in five shots and proves to be a huge offensive threat. Freshman Lauren Watts is a key role in the attack for the Lady Eagles, breaking forward from her right back position and registering 12 shots and an assist. Goalkeeper Amelia Henderson has tallied 35 saves this season, earning her a save percentage of .81.

Longwood (2-5-2) is led by freshman standout Amanda Spencer who has five of the team's ten goals, including a hat trick against Elon. The rest of the Lancers' goals have all come from different players, showing the scoring threat they pose. Goalkeeper Shelby Hall has played most of the minutes in net for Longwood, allowing 16 goals and earning 35 saves.

Todd Dyer is in his 20^th season as head coach at Longwood, now in its second year in the Big South Conference. The Lancers lead the series with Winthrop, 1-0.
