ROCK HILL, SC- The Winthrop women's soccer team heads to Charleston to take on the Citadel Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at Washington Light Infantry Field. The two teams have met four times in the regular season, each earning two wins, with Winthrop most recently winning 1-0 at home.
The Lady Eagles (4-1) are coming off a hard fought 2-1 victory against Davidson Friday night. Sophomore
Taylor Coleman put Winthrop up 1-0 just after halftime, however, Davidson equalized ten minutes later when Dani Johnson put away a penalty kick. Both teams continued to battle and get opportunities forcing both goalkeepers into making some crucial saves. The game winner came in the 69

Grace Radler. Freda currently leads the team in goals (7), points (15) and shots (39) as well as the Big South Conference in goals and points. Coleman has also proven to be extremely effective for the Lady Eagles, scoring four goals on five shots on goal. On the other end, goalkeeper
Amelia Henderson has made 25 saves while allowing five goals for a goals against average of 1.07. Junior

Megan David have made it difficult for the opponents to score, breaking up key scoring opportunities, and allowing only 10 shots per game.
The Citadel (2-3-1) most recently dropped a double over time decision to Presbyterian College 2-1 Friday night. Six of the Lady Bulldogs' seven goals have come from senior forward and All-Southern Conference Preseason team pick Mariana Garcia. Garcia scored 31 goals for the Citadel last year, a school record, and finished 11
th in the country in goals per game with .778. Freshmen Naomi Carter has had to step up in goal for the Lady Bulldogs, starting five of six games, making 52 saves while allowing 17 goals.
The Citadel Head Coach Bob Winch is currently in his eighth season with the Lady Bulldogs and his 19
th season overall. In that time, he has earned a record 146-190-25, 34-90-10 coming from his eight years in Charleston.
