Walton and Lawson remained on the ground but the ball continued to bounce towards the net, but was saved off the line by Campbell defender . A minute and a half later, Freda and Walton linked up again with a give and go pass around the 18 yard box. Freda got the shot off from 12 yards out but was blocked by the Camels' defense and went out of play. The resulting corner, taken by Freda, hit off the post and was settled for a shot by

th minute as a free kick from Michelle Procaccini was touched on by Kine Thorsvik and was finally put in the net by freshman Payton Ormsby. The Lady Eagles would level the game just a minute later when Freda received  a ball over the top from
Macey Bosley and dribbled into 18 yard box, putting a shot past Lawson from just 12 yards out. Freda got her second goal of the night in the 40
th minute, receiving a ball just inside the 18 from junior
Grace Radler and finishing a shot from 12 yards out.
Winthrop carried the momentum into the second half and senior
Kelly Clark made the score 3-1 when she redirected a serve from
Imani Ervins to catch Lawson out of position. The goal was Clark's second on the year and was the last real attacking opportunity for either team. Campbell continued to fight but couldn't generate enough offense to break down the Winthrop defense.
