ROCK HILL, SC—Winthrop's 2011 home volleyball season is chocked full of special promotion nights/days and giveaways for fans in attendance at the Winthrop Coliseum.
The first promotion will be on Friday night as Winthrop takes on UNC Wilmington in the season opener at 7 p.m. in the second match of the Winthrop Classic by Hampton Inn. Mercer will face Davidson in the tournament opener at 5 p.m.
Magnetic volleyball season schedules and team posters will be given away at the doors . Following the match, as will be the case all season, the players will have an autograph session. On Saturday night during the final match of the tournament the first 150 fans who attend will receive a free Winthrop Volleyball T-shirt.
Other season long events will include the popular Penn Station Serving for Subs that will take place between the second and third sets at each home match.
Special admission and free admission offers are also available for the entire home schedule. Youngsters who attended a Winthrop Volleyball Summer Camp will be admitted free all season if they wear their camp T-shirt to the match. Middle school players will be admitted for $1 each match if they wear their team jersey, and high school players will receive free admission by signing a team roster, submitted by their coach, at the main entrance to the coliseum.

Tickets can be purchased before each match at the Winthrop Coliseum ticket window. Tickets for matches are priced at $5 for adults; $3 for seniors and children (age 2-12); and $2 for groups of 10 or more.
