ROCK HILL, SC – Members of the Winthrop baseball team volunteered at the second running of the Big South 5K Road Race, which was held on Saturday, Oct. 8 beginning at the Blakeney Shopping Center in Charlotte.
A total of 17 players helped out at the Big South 5K Road Race, with numerous volunteer duties at the race consisting of: registration, race packet preparation, course monitor, split timers, water station, parking and setup/breakdown.
All proceeds from the Big South 5K Road Race go to benefit middle school athletic programs in Mecklenburg and Union Counties in North Carolina.
