Kamito Hirai has been named the Choice Hotels Big South Men's Golfer of the Week for events played Mar. 22-28, it was announced today by the league office.
Hirai, a native of Summerville, SC, captured his first collegiate tournament title as he shot a 2-under par 211 (72-70-69) at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate that was played on the Kingsmill Resort-River Course in Williamsburg, Va. Hirai was two shots off the lead heading into the final day and carded a final round 69 to win the event by two strokes. His performance helped the Eagles to an eighth-place finish in the 29-team field, a jump from a tie for 19
th-place heading into the final round.
