ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The Winthrop University baseball team fell to UNC Asheville in a 9-0 shutout loss on Sunday at Greenwood Field. Despite the Eagles managing five hits, they couldn't capitalize, while UNC Asheville secured the win by scoring in four different innings.Â

- In the third inning, Johnson singled to center field, driving in Swangim to make the score UNC Asheville 1, Eagles 0.Â
- The fourth inning saw Parks score on a wild pitch and Krumpe cross the plate on a fielding error, extending the lead to 3-0.Â
- In the fifth, Parks singled up the middle, driving in two runs, and Minarik scored on Lowe's sacrifice fly, bringing the score to 6-0.Â
- Swangim hit a double to right center in the seventh inning, clearing the bases for three unearned runs and finalizing the score at 9-0. Â
