ROCK HILL, S.C. -- The Winthrop University baseball team secured an 11-5 victory in the regular season finale over Longwood on Saturday at Founders Field, completing the series win over the Lancers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chazz Grossington hit a solo home run to left field, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
- Alan Benhardt singled, and Josh Skowronski followed with another single. After a walk to Ethan Wilson, Grossington delivered a two-RBI single, bringing home Benhardt and Skowronski, extending the lead to 3-0.
- Longwood responded with two runs. Jaeden Carter scored on a bases-loaded walk, and Brogan Jones added another with a sacrifice fly, narrowing the Eagles' lead to 3-2.
- Grossington reached base on a walk and later scored on Benhardt's single after an error advanced him to third. Benhardt and Gabe Natividad scored on Wilson's ground-rule double, ending the inning with a 7-4 advantage.
- Winthrop added three more runs as Grossington scored on a groundout by Natividad, Benhardt's double brought home Cade Norton, and an error allowed Benhardt to score, pushing the lead to 10-4.
- Longwood scored an unearned run, but the Eagles quickly responded with Norton's RBI single scoring Grossington, extending their lead to 11-5.
