Eagles Fall 10-8 to The Citadel

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- The Winthrop University baseball team fell to The Citadel Wednesday evening by a score of 10-8 at Founders Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Cade Norton got the action going with his RBI single to bring home Josh Skowronski
  • The Bulldogs would go on to score five in the top of the second, led by Sam Dansky's two-run homerun
  • The Eagles found three more in bottom of the fourth thanks to fielders choices that brought in Chazz Grossington and Grant McGuire. Noah Cox would score from third on a wild pitch
  • The Bulldogs scored twice in the fifth and sixth
  • Alan Benhardt posted an RBI single that brought in Skowronski in the bottom of the sixth inning
  • Skowronski helped chip in to the Bulldogs' lead with an RBI single to bring home Colin Crowley
  • Cox found home again courtesy of a wild pitch
  • Norton tallied another RBI to bring in Skowronski
