Q&A - Coroplast Student-Athlete Feature
1. How did you hear about Winthrop and what attracted the most in making your decision?
We originally heard about Winthrop through our recruiting coordinator on our club team! She knew what we were looking for in a college, and recommended Winthrop to us! As soon as we looked more into what Winthrop had to offer, we realized it was a great fit for us! Awesome location, a team with great people, and fantastic academic/athletic opportunities!
2. What's the best part and the worst part about having a twin?
The best part of having a twin is definitely having a forever built-in best friend! We always have someone to turn to, laugh with, and we get to experience life alongside each other.
The worst part of having a twin is definitely having to share
everything! Clothes, rooms, friends, basically everything!
3. How did you get started playing lacrosse?
Our mom saw a local team advertising lacrosse on Facebook, and sent us to the camp. We met an amazing coach right from the start who got us hooked, Stu Brokowsky!
4. If you could ask your future self one question, what would that be?
Danielle: Is my favorite food still sushi?
Courtney: Am I still terrible at parallel parking?
5. Do you have a favorite place in Rock Hill or surrounding area that you like to go?
Our favorite place to go in Rock Hill is Cherry Park! It's located super close to the coliseum, and is gorgeous no matter the season!! We love to go walk, run, or just hangout there!
6. Coffee or Tea? Movie Theater or stream? Emoji or GIF reaction? Give a gift or receive a gift?
Coffee for sure!
We love to stream movies in our dorm with our friends!
GIF's for sure!
Giving gifts, we both love seeing reactions to gifts we give!
7. You're from Rockwall, just outside of Dallas, Texas. What's the greatest thing about Texas?
The best thing about Texas has to be how friendly people are! The southern charm is great!
8. What is the easiest way to tell you apart from your twin?
The easiest way that other people have been able to tell is: Courtney is taller, she has scars on her knees, and has been said to be a bit more extroverted than Danielle!
9. What is the most common characteristic and what is the most opposite characteristic from your twin sister?
Our most common characteristic is our mannerisms, we laugh at the same time and at the same things, and often go to sit at the exact same thing at the exact same time!
Our most opposite characteristic from each other is probably how one of us always has our room organized and clean, while the other is a bit more carefree with how she keeps it!
10. Where do you draw your motivation from in lacrosse and life?
The main motivation comes from wanting to make our parents proud, they poured so much time, effort, and energy into helping us get to where we are so we want to take advantage of the opportunities! Also, we only have a limited amount of time where you can be in college, living with your best friends, and playing your favorite sport, so not taking advantage of our current situation is a huge motivation!
