CLINTON, S.C. -- The Winthrop University baseball squad rallied for five runs in the eighth to take a 10-8 lead, but Presbyterian answered with four in the bottom of the frame to hand the Eagles a 12-10 loss Sunday afternoon at Elton Pollock Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Presbyterian scored two in the first off Randy Guzman and added single runs in the second and third to build a 4-0 lead through three
- Winthrop chipped away with two in the second on a Norton sacrifice fly and a Natividad RBI single to cut it to 3-2, then Benhardt homered in the third to make it 5-3
- The Eagles tied it in the fourth as Norton was hit by a pitch, Crowley singled home a run and a Natividad groundout plated another to knot it at 5-5
- Presbyterian answered with three in the bottom of the fourth, capped by a Holden Baker RBI double, to retake the lead at 8-5
- Both offenses went quiet in the fifth, sixth and seventh before Winthrop erupted for five in the eighth
- Wouters singled and Grossington followed with another single before Norton singled home Wouters to make it 8-6
- Crowley ripped a two-run single to right to tie it at 8-8, Skowronski drew an RBI walk and Hernandez added a sacrifice fly to put the Eagles ahead 10-8
- Presbyterian responded with four of its own in the bottom of the eighth off Harrison Wilson as Andrew Albertus delivered a two-run single and James Green added a two-run single to take the lead for good at 12-10
- Winthrop went down in order in the ninth to end it
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Wilson took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits in the eighth inning
- Winthrop used seven pitchers in the game, with Colby McNeely throwing 1.2 scoreless innings to bridge the gap to the eighth
- Crowley drove in three with a pair of RBI singles, including the game-tying hit in the eighth
- The Eagles dropped consecutive Big South games to lose the series and fall to 7-2 in conference play
