CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Eight Winthrop players found the net, as the Eagles never really let Austin Peay into it, rolling to a 17-6 win Saturday at Morgan Bros. Field.
FIRST QUARTER
- Emily Hollinger got things started at 11:59 to put Winthrop up 1-0, and Iannotti made it 2-0 at 9:11 off an Ava-Claire Collins assist
- Collins added a free-position goal at 8:09, then back-to-back scores from Christina Warren (6:56) and Gabby Pierpont (6:00) pushed it to 5-0
- Austin Peay got through on a Tori Ross free-position goal at 3:01 to cut it to 5-1
- Iannotti closed the quarter with another free-position shot at 0:58, sending Winthrop into the second ahead 6-1
SECOND QUARTER
- Paton pushed it to 7-1 on a free-position goal 2:18 in before Austin Peay's Katie Ferrara answered at 11:18 off a Mak Patten assist
- Warren responded 16 seconds later at 11:02, assisted by Collins, to restore a six-goal cushion at 8-2
- Schwab trimmed it with a free-position goal at 9:47, but Winthrop went on a quick 3-0 run
- Hollinger at 8:41 off a Seiler assist, Manderano on a free-position shot at 6:49, Collins on a man-up chance at 3:33, pushing it to 11-3
- Calabrese beat the half buzzer at 2:42. Winthrop up 12-3 at the break
THIRD QUARTER
- Iannotti opened with a free-position goal at 11:16 and scored again at 9:18 to make it 14-3
- Hollinger completed her hat trick at 7:36 off a Warren assist
- Calabrese converted a man-up chance at 7:00 off a Paton assist for a 16-3 lead, the game's largest
FOURTH QUARTER
- Green cards on Kamryn Davis and Danielle Iadanza gave Austin Peay back-to-back power plays. Schwab scored both, a free-position shot at 13:19 and a goal off a Houttekier assist at 11:39, pulling the Governors within 16-5
- Manderano answered at 9:20 off a Hand assist to push the margin back to 12
- Ferrara added one at 7:15 for the final
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Iannotti finished with four goals on five shots and two draw controls
- Hollinger hat-tricked it, scored in each of the first three quarters, and didn't miss a shot (3-for-3)
- Collins accounted for two goals, two assists, and a draw control
- Calabrese and Manderano each went for two goals, four combined scores that stretched a comfortable lead into a blowout
- Mikaylah Lindsay went 37:24 in net with four saves before Emma Calhoun and Susan Kirchoff closed it out
