Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop softball junior pitcher
Lonna Addison has been named the Big South Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
Addison was 3-0 with a 1.56 ERA as she earned two wins in two starts and earned the third win in relief on the final day of the Winthrop Invitational. She tossed two complete games, including a two-hit shutout with a walk and nine strikeouts against Georgia State. She earned her second with a complete game against ETSU as she allowed one run on three hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Addison earned her league-leading eighth win on Sunday in relief as she grinded through rainy conditions to toss four innings allowing three runs on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts in the win over Bucknell.
For Addison this is her second conference weekly honor as an Eagle, last getting selected Feb. 28, 2025. This is the third conference weekly honor of the season for the Eagles as Addison joins teammates
Darrah Nickens (Co-Player of the Week) and
Rebecca Amos (Freshman of the Week) to garner the honor.
