Rebecca Amos has been tabbed the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Amos played a key role in the Eagles going 4-0 at the Coach Cooke Memorial and go 4-2 on the week. She batted .550 with 11 runs, two doubles which included a career-high four hits in the win over Drexel on Saturday. She had a slugging percentage of .650 and on-base percentage of .571. Amos also finished 3-of-4 on the bases and leads the team with six stolen bases on the year. Scored the tying run (4-4) in a 6-4 comeback win over Drexel on Friday. In the walk-off win over GW she scored the game-winning run.
This is the first conference weekly honor for Amos and the first Eagle to earn Freshman of the Week honors since
Katie Beck on Mar. 4, 2025. It is the second conference weekly honor earned by the Eagles this season as
Darrah Nickens was the Co-Player of the Week Feb. 17.
