Tori Iannotti and
Gabby Pierpont were tabbed with Big South Conference weekly awards, with Iannotti earning Player of the Week and Pierpont being tabbed as Defensive Player of the Week.
Iannotti capped an impressive week with 10 goals on 13 shots (.867 shooting percentage), earning recognition as one of the conference's top performers. The senior opened the week with four goals against Campbell before closing it out with a six-goal, six-shot effort, one shy of her career high, that proved to be the difference in Winthrop's historic double-overtime victory over Queens, the program's first-ever win against the Royals.
Pierpont made her presence felt on both ends of the field throughout the week, finishing with four ground balls, five caused turnovers and three draw controls across two contests. The senior midfielder opened the week with two goals against Campbell, adding a draw control and a caused turnover, before shifting her impact to the defensive end against Queens. In the historic double-overtime victory over the Royals, Pierpont posted a career-high four caused turnovers and matched her career best with four ground balls, a performance that proved pivotal in securing Winthrop's first-ever win over Queens.
