ROCK HILL, S.C. -- The Winthrop University baseball team completed the sweep over Morehead State on Sunday thanks to
Gage Handzel's walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- The Eagles struck first in the bottom of the first that started with Skowronski stealing second base who would advance to third on a Morehead State fielding error. As a result, Natividad advanced from third to home to make it 1-0 after one.
- Hernandez found home thanks to a sacrifice ground out from Cox.
- A sacrifice bunt from Cox in the sixth inning advanced Crowley to second and Hernandez once again found home plate
- Morehead State found life in the eighth inning when Aubrey Kearns homered to right bringing three runs home with him
- In the bottom of the ninth, pinch hitter Gage Handzel recorded the game winning walk-off single to bring home Chazz Grossington
INSIDE THE BOX SCOREÂ
Guzman recorded two hit-less innings on the mound and six IP on the day recording five strikeouts
Harrison Wilson relieved Guzman in the seventh who recorded two strikeouts across three innings
Winthrop was hit by a pitch once again, pushing the season total to 34 HBP through seven gamesÂ
Winthrop recorded 33 runs over the course of the three game series, outscoring Morehead State by 26 for the weekend

The Eagles will welcome Marshall on Monday, Feb. 23 with first pitch set for 2:00 p.m.
