  • Since the conference-opening loss at Longwood, the Eagles bounced back with 12 straight victories and sit a half game behind High Point in the league standings
  • Winthrop has clinched one of the top two seeds for the Big South Tournament, sitting 12-1
  • This is the second time the Eagles have been 12-1 in league play and the first in the Mark Prosser Era
  • Improved to 7-0 at home in league play with a 68-64 win over Upstate on Feb. 19
  • That win gave the Eagles their 12th straight win, tied for 6th best regular season conference win streak
  • In their last road game, the Eagles knocked down 18 threes on their way to a 103-85 victory at Gardner-Webb
  • The 18 threes were a program single-game record against a Big South opponent
  • Have won 20 of the last 22 regular season conference games
  • Averaging 80.2 ppg while allowing 72.8 ppg and have earned 77 more free throw attempts than opponents

  • Logan Duncomb posted his 11th double-double of the season against Upstate with 24 points and a career-high 16 rebounds

25th ANNIVERSARY
This year celebrates the 25th anniversary of the 2000-01 team that captured a third consecutive Big South Conference Title. The Eagles battled their way through the season to an 18-13 record. Preseason Player of the Year Greg Lewis was lost for the season after six games. The season opened with the Eagles challenging the 6th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels in a 66-61 loss on the road. Led by Gregg Marshall the Eagles won eight of nine games to capture the conference championship, including a 67-65 overtime win in the title game over top-seeded Radford. The Eagles reached the title game after a 67-62 overtime win over Liberty. Winthrop was sent to the play-in game in Dayton, Ohio as the Eagles fell 71-67 to Northwestern State.
