Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop got out to a quick start and never looked back downed league-leading High Point 92-75, Wednesday evening inside the Winthrop Coliseum.

- Logan Duncomb (28 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, block)
- Tommy Kamarad (17 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, block, 2 steals)

FIRST HALF
- Panthers were on the board first as Terry Anderson boarded a miss, backed down the defender and scored on a reverse layup
- Eagles tied it on the next possession as Daylen Berry knocked down a jumper
- A hook shot in the paint from Logan Duncomb put the Eagles in front 4-2 but the Panthers regained the lead on a left wing three from Anderson at the 17:48 mark
- A second chance bucket by Ed Nnamoko put the Eagles back on top and started a 7-0 run to lead 11-5 at the 14:58 mark
- Winthrop extended its lead to 17-9 after Duncomb got a hook shot to drop in with 12:12 to play in the half
- High Point scored five straight beginning with a corner three from Scotty Washington followed by a steal and dunk finish on the other end by Anderson with 11:45 left
- Eagles responded with a score at the rim by Tommy Kamarad followed by a steal by Berry as he finished at the other end
- Another steal, this time by Kamarad, led to a left wing pull-up three in transition by Kareem Rozier to push the lead to double-digits at 24-14 with just under 10 minutes remaining
- Winthrop kept the offense going with eight straight points highlighted by back-to-back threes from Kamarad and Rozier to lead 32-16 with 9:04 left in the half
- Duncomb scored seven consecutive points and helped the Eagles reach a 21-point advantage with 6:39 on the clock
- Eagles led by as much as 25 points with 3:05 left after a slam by Duncomb
- Winthrop took a 53-29 lead into the half as Kody Clouet drilled a right wing three with 11 seconds left
SECOND HALF
- High Point opened the half on a 10-0 run that started with a Washington scored at the rim followed by a three-pointer from Rob Martin
- A three-point play by Owen Aquino followed by a layup from Aquino had the Panthers trailing 53-39 at the 17:32 mark
- Kamarad halted the run as he was fouled driving down the middle of the lane and converted both free throws
- Panthers were with 14 points at the 15:38 mark only to have Clouet bang a three from the left wing and then score a second-chance opportunity off the drive to lead 62-43
- The lead was back to 20 at 64-44 with 12:43 to play after Nnamoko knocked down two free throws
- Eagles continued to remain steady and didn't allow the Panthers to get closer than 14 points the rest of the game
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Eagles shot 54 percent for the game while holding High Point to 39 percent
- The two teams combined for 61 free throw attempts as the Eagles were 22-of-33 while High Point was 20-for-28
- Winthrop had a 38-32 edge in the paint and 17-6 advantage in second chance points
- From the 12:12 mark of the first half the Eagles made 11 consecutive field goal attempts

- Eagles snapped a 5-game losing streak to the Panthers for a 4th straight win for the Eagles as they improve to 4-1 in league play, tied atop the league standings with High Point
- Winthrop connected on 10 threes in the game, which is the 13th game of the season with 10 or more
- With the win the Eagles have now won nine of the last 10 regular season home games
- Duncomb posted his 8th 20-point game of the season and fourth in the last five games
- The win gives head coach Mark Prosser his 90th at the helm of the Eagles
