CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Big South Conference office has announced the women's basketball slate for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Winthrop will face each of the eight Big South opponents twice during the season, with one game at home and one on the road. The Eagles will compete on a Wednesday-Saturday schedule, with byes coming after the January 21 and February 21 games.
The Eagles will open conference play on New Years Eve, taking on Gardner-Webb at home for the last day of 2025. They'll then hit the road for back-to-back contests, visiting UNC Asheville on Jan. 3 and USC Upstate on Jan. 7.
Returning home, the Eagles will face Charleston Southern on Jan. 10 before traveling to Longwood on Jan. 14. The homestand continues with a matchup against Radford on Jan. 17, followed by a road test against the reigning Big South Champs, High Point on Jan. 21.
Winthrop will close out January with two more contests, a home game against Presbyterian on Jan. 28 and a road trip to Radford on Jan. 31.
February opens with a key home matchup against High Point on Feb. 4, followed by a visit to Gardner-Webb on Feb. 7. The Eagles then host USC Upstate on Feb. 11 and Longwood on February 14.
After a road contest at Presbyterian on Feb. 18, the Eagles return home for a late-season push, hosting UNC Asheville on Feb. 25 before wrapping up the regular season at Charleston Southern on Feb. 28.
The season culminates with the 2026 Big South Women's Basketball Championship, which will be held at Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tenn., from March 4-8. The first round will be Wednesday, March 4, followed by four quarterfinal contests on Thursday, March 5. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, March 7, with the Championship game on Sunday, March 8.
