Game Recap
- The first half saw both teams play physical and each team create a couple of scoring opportunities
- Wofford tested Winthrop goalkeeper Sofia Iori in the 19th minute with a shot by Ines Obradovac but Iori was well positioned for the save
- Terriers had a better chance in the 30th minute as Ellie Gower got a clear look on goal from about 25 yards out and her shot on frame was tipped over the bar by Iori
- Eagles grabbed momentum in the late stages of the first half creating three scoring chances before the break
- The first came in the 39th minute as Sophia Balliet's shot on frame from about 6-7 yards out was saved by Elizabeth Navola with a quick reaction sticking out her right hand to deny the goal
- A little over 20 seconds later the Eagles were at it again as Evyn Schokora fired a shot on frame that was stopped by Navola
- In the 42nd minute a service into the box found the head of Monssi Avila-Gutierrez as she headed toward the lower right corner but Navola made a diving save
- After a scoreless first half Wofford tried to open the scoring in the 49th minute as Obradovac fired a shot to the low corner but Mia Vrataric was there for the save
- In the 66th minute Cordelia McIntosh created space outside the box and fired a shot to the low corner that Navola snagged diving to her right
- Off a service into the box in the 72nd minute the Eagles applied pressure as Ally Bender tried to fire a shot on frame near the edge of the area, which was blocked by a defender and the rebound came to Amalie Steen who fired a shot that was also blocked
- Eagles last good chance came in the 89th minute as Lindsay Sheets shot to the lower was saved by Navola
Notables
- The overall stats were pretty event as the Eagles had an 11-10 edge in shots while both teams had five shots on goal
- Each team finished with five saves as Iori had three and Vrataric had for the Eagles
- Winthrop extends its unbeaten streak to four games
- The Eagles have now recorded a shutout in three straight contests which hasn't been accomplished since the 2013 season
- This is the first time in 10 meetings that Wofford and Winthrop have played to a draw
- This was the 13th time in program history the Eagles played to a nil-nil draw and the first non-conference match to finish scoreless since 2007 at Presbyterian College before they became a league member
