Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop sophomore midfielder
Cordelia McIntosh has been tabbed the Big South Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
McIntosh played 35 minutes off the bench and made a big impact in the outcome of the contest against The Citadel with a goal and an assist. In the 80
th minute of action, McIntosh stole the ball in the offensive third and dribbled into the box where she passed to
Lindsay Sheets. On her first touch, Sheets played a pass back to
Monssi Avila-Gutierrez who then ripped a shot past the keeper to tie the match.
In the 88
th minute, McIntosh stole another pass off the mark and she beat the goalie 1v1 with a shot to the lower right corner for the game-winner. The goal and assists were the first of McIntosh's collegiate career.
McIntosh is the first Eagle to garner the aware since teammate
Evyn Schokora did so Oct. 14, 2024. This is the 45
th conference weekly honor by the Eagles since the program began in 2003.
