Rock Hill, S.C. – Head women's lacrosse coach Hannah Potter announced the hiring of Madeline Barhorst as assistant coach.

Barhorst comes to the Eagles after completing her playing career for The Ohio State University.

"We're thrilled to welcome Maddie Barhorst to Winthrop University and our Eagle Lacrosse family!" said Potter. "Maddie brings a dynamic offensive mindset that will immediately elevate our game. She has a genuine passion for growing the sport in our region and a strong drive to help our student-athletes develop both on and off the field. We are so excited for the meaningful impact Maddie will make here!"

Barhorst is a Fort Mill, S.C. where she enjoyed a successful career with Nation Ford High School. Barhorst received a bachelor's degree in Humanities and Social Science; Strategic Communications in May of 2025. Barhorst was also the head coach of the Charlotte Style Lacrosse Club for the past four seasons.
