Radford, Va. – Winthrop fell at Radford in the second game of the series with the Highlanders Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Ward's two out RBI single to left field put Radford up 1-0 to start the night
• Crowley's RBI single through the right side with two outs drove in Chronis to tie it up at one in the top of the second
• Radford broke the tie on Perez's RBI single through the left side and Keen's sac fly to center field in the bottom of the second
• Winthrop cut the lead to one in the top of the fourth on an RBI single by Chazz Grossington to center field
• The Eagles then took a 6-3 lead in the next inning by scoring four runs
• The highlight of the frame was Chronis's two-run homer down the left field line with one out to tie it at 5-5 and then having Crowley's two out RBI double down the left field line drive in Skowronski and put the Eagles out in front
• But the Highlanders took the lead for good by scoring four runs themselves in the bottom of the fifth
• Radford would go on to lead 13-6 at the end of the seventh
• Crowley hit a two-run blast with no one out to right center field in the eighth
• Radford scored three more runs in the bottom of the frame to lead 16-8
• Ethan Wilson's sac fly to right field scored Liam McCallum to wrap up the scoring for the night
