Charlotte, N.C. - The Big South Conference has announced the seeding for the 2025 Women's Lacrosse Championship and Winthrop is seeded fifth after finishing the season with a 6-10 (4-4 Big South) record.

High Point, Mercer and Furman finished as regular-season co-champions at 7-1, and the Bears secured the No. 1 seed based on the highest RPI to the thousandth (0.511). The Panthers earned the No. 2 seed based on the highest RPI to the thousandth (0.510) and their head-to-head win over Furman a few weeks ago. Both the Bears and Panthers earned byes into the semifinal round.
 
Furman claimed the No. 3 seed based on the highest RPI to the thousandth (0.501).
 
Wofford closed the year with a 5-3 league mark and earned the No. 4 seed while Winthrop will be seeded No. 5 seed. Gardner-Webb rounded out the top six in the final regular-season standings with a 3-5 league record.
 
The 2025 Big South Lacrosse Championship will be played at the higher seeds in the first round, then head to Mercer for the semifinal and final. Every match of the championship will be shown on ESPN+. The Big South's tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship.

The Eagles are slated to play fourth-seeded Wofford on Tuesday, Apr. 29 at 4:00 p.m. in Spartaburg, S.C. During the regular season, the Terriers defeated Winthrop 14-7 in Spartanburg. The winner of the contest advances to play first-seeded Mercer in Macon, Ga. on Friday, May 2 at 4:00 p.m.
