Norfolk, Va. –
Christina Warren scored six goals as a furious second half comeback fell short at Old Dominion Wednesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Old Dominion started out with a 5-2 lead with 3:37 left in the first quarter, with Warren notching both Eagle goals
- Warren and Ashlee Gensits scored two straight to cut the lead to one at the end of the frame
- The Monarchs answered with four straight goals to go up 9-4 with 1:34 left until the half
- But Warren scored with 14 seconds to go to trim the deficit to four at intermission
- Winthrop only scored twice in the third quarter while the Monarchs tallied four to take a 13-7 lead entering the final stanza
- The Eagles rallied to cut it to two with 3:51 left in the game by going on a 5-1 run
- Warren and Gabby Pierpont each scored two in the fourth
- Jane Tattersall would ultimately score what would prove to be the final goal of the day for both teams

- Eagles are now 104-112 all-time as a program
- Winthrop dominated in draw controls, 22-8
- Warren led the Eagles in goals with six and shots with 11
- Winthrop was perfect in clear opportunities, 10-10
