Charlotte, N.C. – Winthrop dropped their third straight contest at Queens Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Madison Mayer scored the first goal of the game 15 seconds in, making the score 1-0 in favor of the visiting Eagles
• Queens scored the next seven goals to lead 7-1 at the end of the first quarter
• The home standing Royals would score four more goals in the second quarter while Winthrop scored once
• The Royals would lead 11-2 at the break
• The lone goal for the Eagles in the second was by Tori Iannotti at the 8:33 mark
• Like the start of the game, Winthrop again scored first to begin the second half
• Ava-Claire Collins put in the back of the net with 13:06 to make it an eight-point game
• Scarlet Cifarelli also scored in the stanza, this one coming at the 4:39 mark
• Queens would score five times in the third, taking a 16-4 lead at the end of the period
• Iannotti scored her second of the game with 12:18 left in the contest to make the score 17-5 in favor of Queens
• Queens would score six times in the quarter to account for the final margin of victory
