Rock Hill, S.C. – Kody Clouet's season-high 21 points paced Winthrop in a 101-79 victory over South Carolina St., Saturday afternoon inside the Winthrop Coliseum.

FIRST HALF
- Eagles struck quickly as they won the tip and Kareem Rozier dribbled into the paint and knocked down a short jumper
- It was 5-1 in favor of the Eagles at the 17:45 mark as Rozier knocked down a left wing three
- The Bulldogs answered the three Noah Treadwell connected on a triple to make it a one-point lead for the Eagles
- Bulldogs grabbed their first lead of the game as Jayden Johnson dribbled into the paint and dropped in a floater
- After the teams traded three-point buckets, the Bulldogs pushed the lead to three points at 13-10 at the 12:39 mark as Tim Okojie scored inside off a dish from Rayniel Wright
- The Eagles responded with a 7-0 run driven by five straight points by Kody Clouet and capped off by Rozier scoring off the drive to lead 17-13
- Following a Florian Tenebay jumper the Eagles answered with another tripled from Clouet
- Clouet then stole the ball that led to an And 1 on the other end by Logan Duncomb as he converted the free throw to complete the three-point play and lead 23-17 lead with 9:31 left in the half
- Winthrop extended its lead to double-figures at the 7:31 mark after Ed Nnamoko converted two free throws
- Off an inbound Rozier tossed the ball into Duncomb on the baseline and he faked a pass back to Rozier, turned and dribbled right to the rack for a flush and the foul
- Duncomb completed the three-point play for a 30-17 lead with 6:37 remaining
- The Bulldogs chipped away and made it a six point lead for Winthrop at the 4:30 mark after two free throws from Treadwell
- Winthrop responded as Tommy Kamarad collected off an offensive board and scored quickly at the rim and then on the fast break he scored with an And 1 as he made the free throw to complete it and put the Eagles back up 11
- Eagles led 45-36 at the break as Winthrop shot 48 percent from the floor and was 8-of-9 at the foul line
SECOND HALF
- Eagles opened the scoring as Kamarad stole the ball on the first possession of the half and eventually scored at the rim on a dish from Josh Meo
- Meo got involved in the scoring as he scored off the drive for four straight points and a tip-in by Duncomb made it a 6-0 spurt over the first 1:11 of the half and a 51-36 lead
- Clouet connected on back-to-back corner threes as the Eagles opened up the second half on a 12-2 run and led 57-38 with 16:02 remaining
- Eagles pushed their lead to 21 points at 61-40 as they beat the break and Brayhlan Thomas received a pass near midcourt and took it right to the rim for the bucket with 14:16 left
- Winthrop's lead grew to 26 with 10:19 to play after Kamarad hit back-to-back threes, which were the 9th and 10th threes for the Eagles
- Eagles pushed their lead to as much as 33 with 2:11 remaining in the game
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Winthrop shot 61 percent from the floor in the second half and finished the game at 56 percent while the Bulldogs shot 49 percent
- Winthrop dominated the glass 40-26 with 15 offensive boards that led to 26 second chance points
- Eagles finished with a 52-30 advantage in points in the paint
- Clouet's 21 points led four Eagles in double-figures and a total of 11 different players contributed in the scoring column
- The Eagles turned the game in their favor after the Bulldogs took a 12-11 lead as they outscored the Bulldogs 18-4 over a span of five minutes and 28 seconds to build their largest lead of the first half at 13 (30-17)

- Kody Clouet's first three of the game was the 200th of his collegiate career
- The Eagles finished with ?? threes, which is the 5th straight game with 11 or more threes
