Lacrosse Announces 2026 Signing Class

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Winthrop University lacrosse head coach Hannah Potter has announced the Winthrop Lacrosse 2030 signing class. The class includes nine student-athletes: Anna DeClerck, Evers Morris, Grace Mohr, Hadley Rubin, Katie Todorovich, Kayla Bongiorno, Niamh Farrell, Stephie Hughes, and Wrenn Yancey.

"We are thrilled to welcome this talented and driven group of young women to our Winthrop Lacrosse family! These 2026 high school graduates will bring athleticism, leadership, and a competitive spirit that will make an immediate impact on our program in its 14th year," shared Potter. "On the field, they bring championship experience and record-breaking performances (not just on the lacrosse field). They will add a strong presence to all position groups from dynamic attackers and dominant draw takers to tenacious defenders and a fearless goalie. Off the field, this group embodies excellence in the classroom, service in their communities, and a genuine love for the game in how they already give back so graciously," Potter states. "We are confident this class will elevate all our standards, fit right in culturally, and will continue pushing Winthrop Lacrosse forward. The future is bright in Rock Hill with this group coming in less than a year from now!"

Anna DeClerck | Honeoye Falls-Lima Senior High School | Honeoye Falls, N.Y. | Midfield | FCA Upstate

Anna was a two-sport standout at Honeoye Falls-Lima, competing in both soccer and lacrosse at the varsity level for four years. A senior captain on the soccer field, she earned Standout Underclassman honors in 2023 and was listed as a Player to Watch heading into 2025, while also volunteering with youth soccer in her community. On the lacrosse field, Anna has been part of Section V Championship wins in both 2023 and 2025 and was recognized with All-Greater Rochester honors and Monroe County All-League selection this past season. With FCA Upstate, she totaled 43 goals over her final three seasons of club play. As a junior, she collected 20 ground balls and caused 14 turnovers.

Off the field, Anna carries a 3.9 weighted GPA and is a member of both National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. She has held High Honor Roll every semester of high school and is a co-founder and co-president of her school's FCA Bible Study. Anna is also involved in musical theater, environmental club, STEM club, and a mentorship organization connecting high school students with elementary students throughout the year.

"Anna is a versatile and athletic midfielder who thrives all over the field," said Potter. "She competes with grit and plays with a selfless team-first mindset, truly embodying our We > Me team value. Anna has great instincts, especially in the open field to switch hands, to carry, or to go for the check. We have no doubt she will continue to be a great leader at the collegiate level with her caring personality and fun-loving energy."

Evers Morris | Spartanburg High School | Spartanburg, S.C. | Midfield | Charlotte Style

Morris established herself as one of the top midfielders in the state of South Carolina. She is a two-time Region Player of the Year and two-time First Team All-State selection, while also earning both the 2025 Upper State Attacker of the Year and Upper State Player of the Year distinctions. Evers holds Spartanburg High School's all-time records for career assists and career points. During her junior season, she totaled 76 goals, 44 assists, and 120 points, alongside 96 draw controls, 29 ground balls, and 19 caused turnovers. Academically, she is a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club and ranks in the top 11.3% of her graduating class.

"Evers is not only an offensive playmaker, but also the ultimate teammate," shared Potter. "She is a shifty driver who uses both hands effortlessly — a testament to her hard work, dedication, and resilience. Evers will be a noticeable standout in transition as an Eagle whether on the draw, the circle, or in the ride. She brings a winning mentality and leadership presence that will immediately elevate those around her."

Grace Mohr | Newsome High School | Lithia, Fla. | Attack | M&D Orlando

Mohr enters Winthrop as a multi-sport and multi-role contributor. She was a scoring standout early in her high school career, posting 20 goals and 10 assists as a freshman and 19 goals and 15 assists as a sophomore, while also leading Newsome in draw controls that same season with 58. She was named the program's Unsung Hero as a junior. Grace also excelled in cross country, where she earned Newcomer of the Year honors, Outstanding Performance recognition, Western Conference awards, Athlete Spotlight, and served as team captain her senior year. In the classroom, Grace is a National Honor Society member, has achieved Principal's Honor Roll and High Honor Roll across multiple years, and has consistently demonstrated strong academic commitment.

"Grace is incredibly well-rounded offensively — she's a dynamic driving, feeding, and cutting threat at all times," shared Potter. "She is creative in her shot placement, an intuitive player in fast break and slow break opportunities, and has both great speed and stamina. Grace radiates a gratitude for the game that is infectious. We are so glad she gets to spread that love as an Eagle."

Hadley Rubin | Lower Merion High School | Bala Cynwyd, Pa. | Goalie | NXT

Hadley has been a four-year varsity starter in goal at Lower Merion, anchoring the defensive unit. As a freshman, she recorded 152 saves and a 50% save percentage while helping the team reach the second round of districts, the deepest postseason run the program had achieved. She matched that 152-save mark as a sophomore, adding eight out-of-goal ground balls and earning Impact Player of the Year honors, All-Main Line Second Team, and Central League Honorable Mention. Her junior season saw her post 183 saves and 12 out-of-goal ground balls while being the only junior named team captain and again receiving Impact Player of the Year recognition, as well as All-Main Line Second Team and Central League Honorable Mention. Off the field, Hadley is an honors and AP-level student, founder of her school's Morgan's Message chapter, active in cultural and leadership organizations, and coaches' youth goalies through NXT.

"Hadley has a fearless mindset that will propel her to incredible heights here at Winthrop," said Potter. "Her vocal presence between the pipes will spread confidence amongst the defensive unit. Two of the qualities that stand out most about Hadley are her passion for the game and her ability to lead with consistency — no matter the opponent or score. She's going to be a cornerstone of our defensive identity for years to come."

Katie Todorovich | Villa Duchesne | St. Louis, Mo. | Attack | 410 West Lacrosse

Katie brings a multi-sport background to the Eagles' attacking unit. A varsity tennis player since 2022, she is a two-time Second Team All-Conference honoree in doubles and earned First Team All-Conference honors in singles in 2024. On the lacrosse field, she was named First Team All-Conference in 2023 and Second Team All-Conference in 2024. Katie also competed in club tennis, varsity basketball, and was a contributor to varsity mock trial.

Beyond athletics, she is deeply involved in leadership and service, serving on the Cardinal Glennon Junior Board, holding the role of Youth Board Vice President for the June Jesse Memorial Foundation, and earning departmental distinction in history.

"Katie's a dynamic attacker who plays with boundless creativity and confidence," said Potter. "Her off-ball awareness and high lacrosse IQ, paired with her height, will make her a huge threat on the inside at this next level. Katie's competitiveness, fun-loving spirit, and positive energy are contagious — she's going to bring a spark to our offense and a ton of fun to our locker room."

Kayla Bongiorno | Bayport-Blue Point High School | Bayport, N.Y. | Midfield | Legacy Lacrosse LI

Kayla comes to Winthrop from a championship-winning environment, having played a key role in Bayport-Blue Point's 2025 Class C County, Long Island, and New York State titles. She has been part of both soccer and lacrosse programs throughout her career, earning varsity soccer experience early, including being pulled up to JV as an eighth grader. Kayla also competed in club soccer and basketball, earning tournament MVP honors and contributing to multiple championship runs. Her high-motor play style, quick first step, and competitiveness in transition have defined her presence on the field.

"Kayla is a fierce competitor and natural two-way midfielder who will impact every part of the game at the next level," said Potter. "She has excellent speed, a quick first-step, is scrappy on the 50/50s, and is a strong communicator in both zones. Coming from a championship background, Kayla knows what it takes to win and brings that same standard to everything she does. Her work ethic and drive will fit well in our culture."

Niamh Farrell | Spring-Ford High School | Royersford, Pa. | Defense | Ultimate

Niamh has been a varsity starter since her sophomore year, establishing herself as an intelligent and fundamentally sound defender. She has recorded 63 caused turnovers, 21 interceptions, 33 ground balls, 5 assists, and 4 goals in her high school career. Her presence extends far beyond athletic performance. Niamh is deeply involved in service and student leadership, volunteering with youth lacrosse programs, Special Olympics, school spirit and student section leadership groups, and peer mentorship programs. Academically, she holds a 4.0 unweighted GPA, has earned Honor Roll every semester, and has completed five AP courses.

"Niamh is an aggressive yet disciplined defender who will take great pride in shutting down her future matchups," shared Potter. "She has the height, anticipatory skills, and off-ball awareness to be a dominant presence. Her communication skills and commitment to doing the little things right will make her an instant-impact player on Team 14."

Stephie Hughes | Blair Academy | New Providence, N.J. | Midfield | DEWLAX

Stephie is a four-year varsity starter at Blair Academy and one of the most stable and controlled midfield presences in her region. She set the school record for most assists in a single season and finished as the No. 2 assist leader in the district. Stephie is also a National Honor Society member, a Second Team All-League selection, and an AP Scholar, reflecting her strong academic foundation and leadership in the classroom.

"Stephie has an incredibly steady and poised presence between the restraining lines," said Potter. "Her IQ and decision-making are standout qualities while she also does an excellent job of controlling tempo offensively. Her sneaky back checks, smart help on defense, and impressive endurance will make her a great addition to our midfield unit by this time next year."

Wrenn Yancey | Needham Broughton High School | Raleigh, N.C. | Defense | Team 91 Carolina

Wrenn arrives at Winthrop as a disciplined defender with athletic range and composure. She has earned All-Region honors, First Team All-Conference, and team MVP recognition, while also contributing 85 goals and 129 points through her first three seasons, alongside 85 ground balls and 53 caused turnovers. She has been heavily involved in campus and community leadership through One Love Club, DECA, FCA, student spirit groups, and youth lacrosse coaching. She has also earned Academic All-Conference and NC Scholar-Athlete honors throughout high school.

"Wrenn is exceptionally consistent in not only how she plays, but also how she plays to her strengths," said Potter. "Her style reflects toughness, calmness, and communication. She is a standout in the clear — both with her footwork and her passing. Wrenn will leave Winthrop better than she found it."
